Monroe Truck Hosts Pint for Pint Blood Drive with Culver’s Support

Oct 1, 2020

Earlier in the year, the Monroe Truck Equipment team hosted three blood drives at our Monroe, Wisconsin location. The Monroe team has been very successful in their efforts to support the American Red Cross and so far has donated 187 pints of blood to date in 2020.

It’s been a particularly important year to donate blood to the American Red Cross in light of ongoing uncertainties surrounding COVID-19, people who would normally donate on a regular basis have not kept their appointments.

Amanda Field, our Municipal Marketing Specialist at Monroe Truck Equipment, has a personal investment supporting the American Red Cross and as a result, she ensured that Monroe Truck Equipment’s commitment to blood drives throughout the year continued with new safety measures in place. Her enthusiasm for the cause is inspiring.

Recently, another Monroe employee who preferred to stay anonymous, wanted to incentivize participation. They offered to buy each Monroe team member who donated blood a scoop of Culver’s frozen custard. This team member’s amazing generosity snowballed; when they called Culver’s to arrange the purchase, the manager of the local Culver’s offered to gift a full pint to everyone who donated!

The Blood Drive took place on Monday, September 21st at the MTE Training Room. Every employee was paid for their time during the donation and received a coupon for a free pint of the Culver’s custard of their choice in return for their pint of blood. Each team member was also put into a raffle to win a gift card from Pomp’s Tire Service.

Together, our team donated 52 pints of blood (and will eat 52 pints of custard). Donations will be used for a variety of life-saving treatments, including surgeries, cancer treatments, chronic illnesses, and traumatic injuries. Each donation could save up to 3 lives!

“We are going to continue to support the American Red Cross,” says Amanda Field, Monroe’s Municipal Marketing Specialist. “I’m really grateful to everyone who participated and proud of how our team has rallied around this cause.”

Monroe Truck Equipment continues to come together in support of one another, and our community. With the success of this most recent blood drive, we look forward to hosting and participating in more community-focused events. We encourage all team members to contact any member of the leadership team with ideas for causes you support.
