At Monroe Truck Equipment, we pride ourselves in maintaining a work environment that encourages employees to rise through the ranks and grow their careers in our company.
We are proud to celebrate the recent retirement of one such man, John Robertson, who was known by our team as JR, from our Monroe location. JR started at Monroe Truck Equipment in 1979. For over 40 years, he has grown alongside the company. He has held roles in Truck Equipment Sales, as a General Manager, was promoted to VP of Sales in our Snow and Ice Division, and is concluding his career as a Senior Buyer for the Materials Department.
JR has not only greatly grown his career over the years, he has helped countless other Monroe Truck Employees grow their career, serving as a mentor to the entire organization. He has been present for several major changes, and has been able to witness, and participate in the evolution of our business.
We extend our sincere gratitude to JR, who has dedicated his career to Monroe Truck Equipment. We are beyond grateful for his decades of hard work, and his commitment to provide the tools and equipment necessary to keep roads clear and safe for communities across our country.
When looking back at his years on the Monroe Truck Equipment team, JR cites his early days for one of the most memorable moments of his career.
“The first month I was employed here, there was a small tornado that blew part of the roof off the office area. I thought we would have a few days off while the roof was repaired. Instead, we all helped repair the area and continued to work as if nothing happened.”
Talk about tenacity!
When asked about what he’s most looking forward to in retired life, JR mentions being able to play more golf and spend more time with his granddaughter.
The entire Monroe Truck Equipment team celebrates JR, and his long career with us. Please take a moment to send him well wishes in the newest phase of his life: retirement!
Congratulations, John!
