When Monroe Truck Equipment brought on new leadership at the end of 2019, the team committed themselves to creating more streamlined, efficient and communicative processes throughout the entire organization. One of those changes includes aligning our marketing team with our corporate initiatives; the team will be responsible for all marketing across Monroe Truck Equipment and Towmaster.
With all the great changes we’ve made internally to support our customers and our team members, we’re excited to see the impact of our new marketing team structure. This shift will better align our efforts, push our marketing initiatives forward, and create consistency company-wide. It’s also paramount in ensuring a great customer experience, every time.
The primary shift in marketing is that each of our divisions – Commercial, Municipal, Trailers, Corporate/Events – will have a dedicated Marketing Specialist, led by Marketing Director, Jim Smith.
Amanda Field – Municipal Division Marketing Specialist
Amanda has been on the Monroe team for almost 27 years. After earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater, Amanda joined Monroe and has grown her career on the team. She was first hired to assist the manufacturing department in utilizing new software and streamline operations. From there, she moved into a position creating parts manuals internally, which was a natural first step to creating marketing materials.
In her new role, Amanda will be using her years of experience, deep understanding of the company, and great design and business skills to deep dive into Monroe’s Municipal Division and provide a unified marketing approach with a single point of contact.
When Amanda isn’t creating powerful marketing materials for Monroe Truck Equipment, you can find her spending time with her family, camping, and traveling. Amanda also just became a Grandma and looks forward to spoiling her new grandson.
Sarah Monson – Towmaster Trailer Marketing Specialist
Backed by a Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design with a Business Marketing minor from the University of Wisconsin – Platteville, Sarah joined the Monroe team 21 years ago as a Graphic Designer, concentrating on creating clean and powerful graphic layouts for manuals. She then was promoted to a Marketing Administrator position 5 years ago, taking over advertising contracts, memberships, CRM administration and sales reporting.
Now, in her new role, Sarah is ready to get back into designing marketing pieces to strategically expand the marketing presence for Towmaster. Sarah’s “get it done” personality type, organizational skills, and clear dedication will bring her powerful marketing collateral to life as well as help to build long-lasting relationships with customers and team members.
Sarah brings her creativity home with her, where she runs her own photography business, and just built her own greenhouse to be filled with flowers. She also loves to fish and enjoy the outdoors.
Rachel Magellan – Commercial Division Marketing Specialist
With a Bachelor of Art in Art & Graphic Design, and a Minor in Creative writing from the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater, Rachel has developed a great artistic instinct. Rachel joined the Monroe team over 5 years ago and is excited to bring powerful creative direction to the marketing efforts in the Commercial division.
She is looking forward to creating clarity and efficiency within the team’s new marketing structure to better serve Monroe’s customers. Still collaborating as a team, this new position will ensure the right projects and questions are getting to the right people as soon as possible.
When Rachel is not working, you can find her playing video games, practicing the piano, or crocheting. Alongside her fiance, Rachel is teaching her family Dungeons and Dragons, which she has played for almost 15 years.
Rosie Katzenberger – Marketing Coordinator
Rosie joined the Monroe Truck Equipment team two years ago and is looking forward to getting Monroe Truck Equipment’s high-quality products in front of customers and partners at Trade Shows and training and sales events. Rosie attended the Southeastern Academy of Travel and Tourism and earned a degree as a Travel Agent.
She joined Monroe to plan and manage each team member’s work trips, as well as strategizing how to create more efficient travel spending. Now, she’s using that deep insight and her organizational skills to plan and manage events for team members, distributors and dealers. As a behind-the-scenes coordinator, Rosie is leading Monroe Truck Equipment’s most important events, where hundreds of dealers and distributors from across the country get a first-hand look at Monroe’s product lines as well as hands-on sales training.
When she’s not at Monroe, you can find Rosie and her family showing their beef cattle at local, state, and national shows.
Jim Smith – Director of Marketing & Bailment
Jim has spent 33 years developing Monroe Truck Equipment into one of the nation’s leading truck equipment and trailer manufacturers and upfitters. In 1987 he began his career at Monroe as an Inside Sales Rep in the Accessory Division. He was promoted in 1990 to Accessory Sales, and then again in 1995 to General Manager of the Milwaukee facility.
In 2000, Jim became the Sales and Marketing Manager, and from there grew within the marketing department to the Truck Equipment and Bailment Marketing Manager in 2007, and now in his role as Director of Marketing and Bailment.
Backed by an Associates’ Degree in Marketing and Accounting from Madison Business College, Jim’s passion for leadership guides the department’s growth. Now, with Monroe’s new Marketing Division Specialists, he is able to witness the team develop a true partnership with Monroe customers, and work to exceed their expectations. With Jim at the helm, each division’s Marketing Specialist will provide great clarity for the sales team and assist them in providing unrivaled expertise and best-in-class customer support.
When Jim isn’t leading Monroe’s marketing efforts, you can find him spending as much time as possible at his family’s cabin in the northwoods, boating, golfing, snowmobiling or sitting by a campfire.
This shift is going to make an incredible impact, not just internally, but for our customers. This structure provides our customers with clarity on who they could contact for communication, collaboration, and questions. These changes are just one way Monroe Truck Equipment continues to support our customers moving forward.
We are proud to announce the new roles of each of our marketing team members and are grateful for the incredible impact they have already made on our company. We know we are now in capable and talented hands and look forward to seeing how far they can take Monroe Truck Equipment.
