Our team across all of our locations consistently work to find ways to support their community. Supporting our neighbors is one of the pillars of our company culture. We try to figure out what organizations our team members want to support, and find a way to make a donation, host a drive, or find other ways of support. That’s exactly how this stuffed animal drive came about at our Flint, MI location.
Supporting The Flint Community
Our Flint team members have been collecting stuffed animals this month for the children’s unit at Hurley Hospital in Flint. Our team wanted to do something for children and this was a way we found that we could help. They will be given to children from
babies in the neonatal unit up to children battling cancer and other childhood diseases. We are proud of our team for their willingness to give to such an important cause!
About The Hurley’s Children Hospital
The Hurley Medical Center has a nationally recognized pediatric program. It also has the only pediatric Emergency area that has specialized equipment for trauma care for injured or ill children. The hospital has the region’s only Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), the region’s only Burn Unit for children, and is only one of nine Hemophilia Treatment Centers in the state of Michigan.
In addition to caring for and treating sick or injured children, they also have programs that work to keep children out of the hospital. They host a Children’s Clinic at the Flint Farmers Market, where they see over 16,000 children annually. Hurley has a child abuse prevention unit that identifies cases of abuse and intervenes as quickly as possible. They also have injury prevention programs, where Hurley leaders partner with schools, community groups, and local businesses to promote safe habits. It’s not hard to see why our team chose to support such an incredible local organization!
